Racked out to 600mm, the lens pulls a sprinter’s finishing dash into full frame on the home straight. This reach opens up subjects either too distant, too dangerous, or too fleeting to approach and is a key feature of this zoom over other long telephoto lenses.

Unlike zooms that extend physically as focal length increases, XF150-600mmF5.6-8 uses an inner zoom design, so its overall length stays constant throughout the range. That matters when a lens is set up on a window mount during a safari trip or on a tripod at a mountainside overlook, since the balance never shifts as the zoom changes. A head set level at 150mm stays level all the way to 600mm.
At 1605g (3.5lb), it is lighter than other lenses covering a similar range, and its external dimensions of 99x314.5mm stay unchanged whether zoomed to 150mm or 600mm, making it easy to travel with.

XF150-600mmF5.6-8’s inner focusing system driven by a linear motor keeps autofocus fast and largely silent – perfect when a subject might only present a clean view for a second or two after a long wait.
Its focus preset function jumps straight to a saved distance in an instant, which is useful when you have pre-focused on a watering hole or a rock ledge and you need focus to snap back the moment the subject reappears there. Video benefits from minimal focus breathing.

Optical Image Stabilization delivers up to 5.0 stops of correction – enough to keep handheld-taken images usable at shutter speeds as slow as 1/30 sec.
That’s useful in the flat, low-light environment of a dawn safari drive, at dusk on a mountainside, or under stadium lights during nighttime sports when light levels are low and you don’t want to increase ISO.

Twenty-four elements in 17 groups, including three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and four Super ED elements, keep chromatic aberration under control across the zoom range, resolving fine detail and color with clarity.
Weather-resistant seals keep out dust and moisture, and the lens operates at temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F). A fluorine coating on the front element sheds moisture before it becomes a problem.
XF150-600mmF5.6-8 is also compatible with FUJINON XF1.4X TC WR Teleconverter and XF2X TC WR Teleconverter, reaching as far as 1828mm (35mm equivalent) at the end of the zoom range with the XF2X. A tripod collar foot, lens pouch, and shoulder strap are included.
A nine-blade rounded aperture diaphragm, adjustable in steps of one third of a stop, keeps backgrounds soft and free of distraction, even at F8.
