FUJINON XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II is known for its quality and versatility – so much so that many photographers will keep the lens on their camera all day.

XF16-55mmF2.8 II has a 16-55mm zoom range, which takes you from a wide view for interiors and landscapes to a short telephoto for some compression, which is particularly useful for portraits and tighter frames.
That span covers an enormous amount of ground. A wedding photographer can move from a room-setting establishing frame to a tight portrait without changing glass. A street photographer gets wide, established context and environment at 16mm, and isolation and compression at 55mm. For travel, it is often the only lens you will need day to day.

A switch on the XF16-55mmF2.8 II barrel toggles the aperture ring between two modes: clicked and de-clicked.
Clicked, the ring moves in defined 1/3 stops – the tactile feedback most photographers want for stills. De-clicked, it turns smoothly with no steps at all, so you can ride exposure during a video recording without the brightness jumping.

A linear motor (LM) drives focus, with autofocus as quick as 0.02 seconds. An inner focusing system moves lighter elements, which is what allows that speed and keeps the front of the lens from extending.
The motor is near silent, with minimal focus breathing (the slight shift in framing as focus changes). Both matter for video, where a hunting or noisy lens can ruin a recording on a quiet set.
