- As a subject moves closer to the lens and depth-of-field becomes more shallow, precise focus becomes increasingly important. XF80mmF2.8’s inner-focusing system separates the lens groups into front and rear focusing elements and uses linear motors to drive them quickly into position. The result is fast and precise autofocus, near or far. With all movement internal, the front element stays in place so there is minimum disturbance.
- Macro photography is all about fine details, so even the slightest blur can ruin a great image. When working at such close quarters, camera shake and shift blur, which increase in effect as magnification increases, can be challenging to navigate for even the most seasoned photographers. This is why XF80mmF2.8 is equipped with an accelerometer and five-stop Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which work together to provide shift blur detection and minimize the effects of camera shake.
- Once you begin to explore macro photography with XF80mmF2.8, you won’t want to stop. That’s why this lens has been designed to be weather-resistant and function in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C). It also benefits from a fluorine coating on the front element to repel water and dirt.
