As a wedding photographer, managing your gear and creating an efficient post-production workflow are significant parts of your process. Camera to Cloud is a feature within Adobe Frame.io that enables you to accelerate your workflow by instantly transferring files from your camera to the cloud.

Discover how Fujifilm’s Frame.io integration transforms your workflow as a wedding photographer, allowing you to offer faster turnaround, greater efficiency, and enhanced cooperation between clients and collaborators. In this guide, we’ll explore how to get started using your supported FUJIFILM X Series or GFX System body.

Benefits of Camera to Cloud for Wedding Photographers

Whether you’re running around a wedding with FUJIFILM GFX100S II or X-H2 over your shoulder, any additional efficiency in your workflow creates a better experience for you and your client. Here are a few different ways Camera to Cloud can help you photograph a wedding, providing more peace of mind and faster results to share with the special couple.

Instant Backups for the Big Day

You’ve just documented the most beautiful moment with GFX100S II and FUJINON GF55mmF1.7 R WR, but what happens if your storage becomes damaged or lost? Using Camera to Cloud can help reduce the risk of losing precious moments by providing instantaneous backups to the cloud. You can select the file type you wish to transfer to Frame.io, including RAWs.

Remote Editing with Collaborators

If your team has a dedicated retoucher or editor, get them started as soon as the wedding bells chime. Using Frame.io and Camera to Cloud, your camera can instantly upload content to the cloud, allowing a remote editor to begin work even while the wedding is still in progress. Editing early with a remote team member means you can even present the couple with a sneak peek of the event by the night’s end.

Creating with Secondary Photographers

Rather than wait for the end of the wedding to finagle multiple SD cards into a single source, rely on Camera to Cloud to instantly upload to a central location from numerous cameras, simplifying the post-process workflow.

Share Images and Video with Clients

When you’re ready to present your work, you can easily share content you’ve uploaded to Frame.io with clients using a web link. The couple can comment and like photos, sharing their feedback. This streamlined process is an excellent way to work together, selecting images for a photo album or series of prints.

How to Use Camera to Cloud with Fujifilm

Using a wireless or wired internet connection, you can accomplish a Camera to Cloud workflow with compatible Fujifilm bodies. We’ll explain how to get started, connect your camera to Frame.io, and collaborate with others. The process is quick to set up and doesn’t require specialized knowledge.

Step 1: Sign Into Frame.io and Create Your Project

Create a Frame.io account online; it is free to start. Once you have an account, create a project to store and organize uploaded media from your camera. Using the Frame.io website or mobile app, you can configure projects that best suit your creative workflow, adding crucial participants and multiple cameras.

Step 2: Connect Your Camera to Frame.io

Connect your X Series or GFX System camera to the internet. To do so, navigate to the NETWORK/USB SETTING menu and select Frame.io Camera to Cloud. From here, choose to connect, then select either the Wireless LAN or Wired LAN option. You can also use USB smartphone tethering with an Android or iOS device.

Once you have connected your camera to the internet, you can authenticate and pair it with your Frame.io account and the desired project. Visit the C2C Connections tab on your Frame.io project and choose Set Up New Device. Frame.io will provide you with a PIN for your camera.

Return to your Fujifilm camera; it will prompt you for a PIN. Enter the PIN you acquired from Frame.io to establish a secure connection to the cloud.

Step 3: Configure Your Upload Settings

Every professional photographer has a preferred workflow, so your Fujifilm camera lets you tweak settings to best suit your approach. You can find these settings by going back to your device’s Frame.io Camera to Cloud menu.

  • Select File Type: Choose the files you wish to transfer, including MOV, JPEG, RAW, TIFF, and HEIF.

  • Auto Image Transfer Order: Enable or disable automatic uploading of content to the cloud as you create it.

  • Transfer/Suspend: Stop uploading until you have a better signal, such as when you are back in a hotel room.

  • Image Transfer While Power Off: Decide if your camera will continue transferring to the cloud when switched off.

Now that you have configured your camera, it will upload content to Camera to Cloud. You can choose to disconnect from Frame.io at any time if desired. Content can be manually selected for upload using the Select Image & Transfer setting; you can assign physical buttons as a shortcut to this setting for fast access.
